Review: C.Robert Walker feat Paris Cesvette – Something’s Going On

C robert Walker

Artist: C. Robert Walker with Paris Cesvette
Track: Something’s Going On
Label: BBB Music (South Africa)
Genre: SmoothContemporay Jazz/Nu Jazz/Soulful House

C. Robert Walker, the man many in the industry have labelled “a complete singer who can flow from Soul to Jazz to RnB to House with a seductive ease and before you know it, you are in it, and he is in you” – showcases his ultra soulful vocal range and his equally smooth lyrics on his latest offering on one of South Africa’s enterprising label BBB Music.

It’s a complete shift from what I’ve come to know of his work. This is more in reference to his previous Soulful-House hits, “Hard Time for Lovers” and “I Love the Night” with Rocco (GOGO Music).

This time having teamed up with DJ/Jazz / House producer Paris Cesvette, they’ve put together seductively melodious single

‘Something’s Going On’ a first single taken off his forthcoming album “Loving You In Places”. The track has definitely created some buzz and is already tugging way on some heart strings of Contemporary Jazz lovers and super-Soulful-House lovers too.

I must say though Walker’s silky smooth voice is somewhat reminiscent of the late Luther Vandross and Cesvette’s exquisite dexterity on the production front adds an even more shine to already stellar musical offering.

This is music for all occasions and is certified cool enough for all ages (it’s smooth enough to get your momma grooving).
