Internationally renowned Deep & Soulful House DJ/Producer Andy Compton is back with his latest offering, a superb collaboration, “Take It Easy” featuring Ziyon of South African super duo Liquideep.
Compton’s signature jazzy sound and feel create a melodic ambience on the original mix, which caresses the soul with its soothing appeal, smoothly aided by Ziyon’s soulful lyrics and silky voice that compliment the acoustic chords perfectly.
The original mix is one of the coolest tracks I have heard this year and should easily appeal to a varied audience.
The remixes feature noteworthy work from Leighton Moody, whose mix marries the soulful melody of the track perfectly with the sexy sounds of the saxophone and will keep you reaching for the repeat button.
This is a personal favourite, and will definitely become a new anthem for fans of the soulful sound.
The Kojo Akusa remix stays true to the ‘Compton sound’ with its hypnotic acoustic chords, it’s somewhat of a gem and will probably join the collections of many a Deep House lover.
For the Deep House junkies there’s also the Pirahnahead’s remix, which offers a more minimal interpretation of the track with some cool transitions to kick back and enjoy.
Rig Maiden’s Baby Maker remix drops the BPM and ventures deeper underground with a Tech-laden sound radiating an understated rhythm.
Vibration Lab’s future reggae sound puts a delightful spin on the track offering a throwback to a “UB40-type” melody infused with a Deep House sound to keep your feet tapping and hips grooving.
The tracks are all well produced but the undoubted star has to be the Leighton Moody mix, which I will be grooving to all day long.
