Nigel Hayes & Clare Large – Infusion EP

Nigel Hayes & Clare Large - Infusion EP

Artist: Nigel Hayes & Clare Large
Label: Intelligent Audio
Title: Infusion EP
Genre: Nu Jazz/Lounge/Chill-out

Nigel Hayes, a man who needs no introduction is back with his latest offering on Intelligent Audio, the ‘Infusion EP’. Together with label head Clare Large, have put together some exquisite, musically matured Nu Jazz and Chill-out cuts.

This bears testament to the quality of work he has produced (and still continues) throughout his near 30 year career in the music industry. It’s a showcase of a Producer/DJ whose talents and career has seen him play extensively across the globe.

First up is the ‘3am’ (Original Mix), here Hayes laces the track with a larger than life acoustic bass sequence that lends the percussions a full bodied edge. It’s a sonically uplifting experience and as the title suggests, the track is perfectly suited for late night sets, easing you into the dusk of early morning.

Next up is ‘Befuddled’ (Original Mix), a slightly lower tempo tune that turn backs the speed dials a notch, whilst maintaining the creative aura of the preceding track.

Atmospheric sounds and experimental leftfield like beats form the backbone of what is an ear-catching experience. It may not be a foot tapping, body shaking groove but it shows the versatility of the producers in their production.

Corked (Original Mix) on the other hand makes sure your feet keep tapping. Interesting synths, soothing acoustic notes and noteworthy keys unlock the chilled out, jazzy feel on this one. It’s a treat to an all round quality production that will add an extra shine to any laid-back occasion and my favourite on the EP.

Rounding the package off is ‘Kitch n Sync’ (Original mix). This here is a hypnotically unwind experience. The bass line here takes the lead, down a hypnotic open working in tandem with delicious sax licks to ease you out.

‘Infusion’ EP, is another fine example of what we’ve come to know and expect from Intelligent Audio.
